Episode Encoder (formerly known as simply Episode and Compression Master) is a superb tool for compressing and encoding video.

In terms of speed, it's one of the quickest encoders you'll ever use and even better, it has a user friendly interface that makes managing and encoding video a pleasure. Episode Encoder is ideal for those who need to compress and distribute video via the Web, DVD, mobile phones and portable devices. You can even compress HD footage, and the impressive thing about Episode Encoder is that it seems to support virtually any file format.

Episode Encoder's interface is very straightforward and the nice thing is that it automatically detects any media stored on your desktop so it's ready to be dragged and dropped into the main interface and encoded. You can preview any changes before you make them too and also set batches of up to 25 video files encoding. Considering this is quite an expensive app however, this batch processing option should be unlimited.

There is very little to fault with Episode Encoder except the fact that the 30 second encoding limit in the trial is a bit annoying when trying to consider whether to spend almost $500 on what is otherwise and excellent product.
